A spice mix to prepare tasty Sambar
Ingredients
Bengal Gram Dal, Black Gram Dal, Red Chillies, Fenugreek, Copra, Asofoetida, Coriander, Cinnamon, Turmeric, and Vegetable Cooking Oil
Directions for Use
- Cook 1 measure of Tur Dal in 3 measures of water with ½ tsp of cooking oil and a pinch of turmeric.
- Boil 250 gms of vegetables separately (Best suited vegetables – Pumpkin, Ash Gourd, Brinjal, Capsicum, Onion, Potato, Drumstick, Cucumber)
- Mix boiled vegetables and cooked tur dal. Allow it to come to a boil
- Add 3-4 Table Spoons of Adukale Sambar powder. Add salt, Tamarind Juice, and Jaggery to your taste
- Prepare a tempering of ½ tsp of Mustard, a pinch of Asofoetida and Curry Leaves in 1 tsp of cooking oil. Add it to the sambar
